Job summary

Kraus-Anderson in Minneapolis is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Support professional to process invoices, code expenses, and ensure timely payments in a fast-paced construction environment. Qualifications

  • Two years of relevant work experience or a bachelor’s degree in lieu of experience.

  • Proficient in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Invoice Processing and Payments: Sort, organize, code, and batch invoices with PO and receiving docs; process payments and ACH transfers.
  • Vendor and Account Management: Monitor payments, resolve inquiries, and reconcile accounts.
  • Reporting, Analysis, and Process Improvement: Analyze DPO, spend by vendor, and drive efficiency improvements.
  • Additional Support: Backup for employee expenses in Concur and assist during audits.

Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the accounts payable function by processing invoices and payments, maintaining accurate electronic records, resolving vendor and payment inquiries, and assisting with account reconciliation and compliance activities

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Invoice Processing and Payments
  • Sort, organize, match, code, and batch invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
  • Process payment requests, checks, electronic transfers, and Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments.
  • Ensure invoices and credit memos are entered accurately and timely and facilitate the preferred method of payment.
Vendor and Account Management
  • Handle escalations: complex disputes, payment investigations, process breakdowns
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are current and accurate.
  • Investigate and reconcile accounts as needed.
Reporting, Analysis, and Process Improvement
  • Analyze metrics such as AP Trends, Exception Drivers, Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) and spend by vendor/category for management review.
  • Lead process improvements for developing ways to reduce manual work, minimize errors, improve cycle times, and strengthen internal controls.
  • Support the accounting team during monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles.
Additional Support
  • Serve as backup for processing employee expense reports in Concur.
  • Assist auditors by providing support and documentation on accounts payable processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Associates Degree in accounting or related field preferred

  • Valid Driver's License, ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record, and ability to adhere to the KA Motor Vehicle Policy.
  • Travel 25-75%; depending on job

Pay Range:

$23.00 to $30.00 hourly, plus discretionary incentive program.

While the range listed represents the anticipated hiring range for this position, offers at the upper end of the range are uncommon. Pay is based on many factors including but not limited to education, skill, experience, training, certifications, and other business needs.
