Job summary

NC Department of Transportation is seeking an Accounting Technician I in Wake County, NC. The role handles entry of documents, invoice approvals, and communication with internal/external customers.

You will work with statements, credits, and utilities mail, supporting the CFO-Financial Management Division. The position requires an Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent, with proficiency in Excel and bookkeeping concepts.

Qualifications

  • Experience with accounting tasks, invoicing, and basic bookkeeping.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Enter documents and approve invoices entered by field personnel.
  • Receive statements, resolve credits and invoices, maintain provider responses.
  • Open and distribute mail for utilities, and assist with other management projects.

You must apply by 11:59 PM prior to the posted closing date. The Accounting Tech I position is responsible for entry of documents and approval of invoices entered by field personnel. Also, the position works with other team members to receive statements, resolve outstanding credits and invoices, and maintain responses by providers. The position requires flexibility to work multiple job duties, communicate well with internal and external customers (written and verbally). Open and distribute mail for utilities.
