Pay is based on the location of the selected applicant; salaries will be discussed at the time of the interview.
Anchorage: $31.54 / hourly (OT Eligible)
Juneau: $33.12 / hourly (OT Eligible)

What you will be doing:

Join the Department of Transportation & Public Facilities and help Keep Alaska Moving. We are looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional to lead and oversee statewide Purchasing Card (PCard) processing.

In this role, you will:

• Serve as the department’s PCard-processing expert, providing accurate and timely review of approximately 45,000 annual PCard transactions in excess of $10M.
• Is the main point of contact for PCard-related questions and supports 150+ processors across the department
• Lead, train and mentor a team of PCard processors consisting of an accounting technician 2 and an accounting clerk to ensure consistent, high-quality work.
• Analyze and certify financial transactions and prepare/distribute daily reporting to department-wide staff.
• Troubleshoot complex accounting issues using IRIS and apply State and Federal regulations, the Alaska Administrative Manual, and GAAP.

Two years of technical level accounting or bookkeeping experience, of which at least one year was at the full-proficiency level.

Substitutions:
Certification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited college will substitute for one year of the required experience at the non-full-proficiency level.

Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for up to one year of the required experience at the non-full-proficiency level (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in Accounting.

Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required two years of experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 9 semester/12 quarter hours at or above the 200 level in Accounting.

An associate’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited college will substitute for the required two years of experience if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours at or above the 200 level in Accounting.
