Job summary

The Department of Family and Community Services, Office of Children's Services (OCS) is recruiting for full-time Accounting Technician 2 located in Juneau, Alaska.

What you will be doing

The Accounting Technician 2 works for the Office of Children’s Services, providing essential services to Vendor & Provider Payments as well as other units by processing medical, childcare, special needs, and Independent Living invoices, performing vendor account reconciliation, Cross certification of Accounting Technician work and overall workflow and within Online Resource for the Children of Alaska (ORCA). They are responsible for resolving payment inquiries and supporting field staff in ensuring fiscal transactions meet state and federal regulatory standards.

This position is located in the Goldstein Building in beautiful downtown Juneau.

We are seeking a candidate with the following competencies:

  5. Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.

Qualifications

One year of clerical work experience maintaining records that included using computer systems and performing basic arithmetic calculations.

Substitutions: Successful completion of a formal vocational education program in accounting or bookkeeping will substitute for the required experience.

Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month).

Education
