Rice County in Minnesota seeks an Accounting Technician for the Social Services Department. The role processes invoices, vouchers, and bills, posts data, and prepares financial reports while maintaining debtor files and initiating collections.
You will perform accounts payable and receivable duties, balance journals and bank statements, enter budget data, and support clerical staff. Normal hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, full-time.
The Accounting Technician receives, sorts, corrects, and reconciles a variety of accounting documents such as invoices, payment vouchers, and billings in the Social Services Department. The Technician posts data to appropriate accounts, reviews and codes financial information, disburses funds, makes deposits, and prepares financial reports. The Accounting Technician maintains detailed debtor client files and initiates legal collection.
This position requires one year of post-secondary education in accounting or business administration and two years accounting related experience, or equivalent.

$25.86 - $27.02 per hour / SS Unit - Grade 7
Normal business hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Full-time hours equal 40 hours per week
