Job summary

The RMG Group is a family-owned, 27-year-old firm seeking a senior accounting professional to lead financial operations for a range of small business clients. This fully remote role requires management experience, deep accounting expertise, and a knack for process optimization across SaaS, real estate, and nonprofits.

You will mentor teams, implement compliant practices, manage multi-entity books, and coordinate with clients.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of small business accounting experience.
• General accounting principles (GAAP) knowledge and application.
• Not-for-profit audits, grants, and restricted funds experience.
• Inventory and e-commerce accounting experience.
• Sales tax compliance (multi-state).
• Real estate, development, multi-entity exposure.
• Startup and SaaS industry familiarity.
• Franchise accounting exposure.

• 7+ years graduated experience in small business accounting operations in multiple industries, for different company types + sizes
• General accounting principles (understanding and application)
• Specialties a plus
• Not-for-profit: audits; functional expenses allocation; restricted funds/assets; grant funding and applications; investment accounts management reconciliation; and so on...
• Inventory + E-commerce (management and accounting)
• Compliance, including Sales Tax/multi state
• Real Estate (development, multi-entity)
• Startups
• Technology companies (SaaS)
• Franchises

Software/Application (Troubleshooting and Integration Experience strongly preferred)

• QuickBooks; Xero; Zoho; R365
• Sage / Intacct
• Netsuite or other ERP system(s)
• Dext; Expensify; Bill.com; Veem; Hubdoc
• Amazon; Shopify; WooCommerce, etc.
• Avalara, TaxJar, etc.
