Job summary

MPI is seeking an Accounting Supervisor in Woodward, OK to oversee plant accounting functions, own FP&A for the location, and partner with cross-functional teams. The role offers part ownership of cost accounting and frequent exposure to senior leadership.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 3+ years in finance, manufacturing and public company experience, and CPA is preferred. Flexible work environment with some remote days is available.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Maintain and analyze standard costs, labor costs, overhead allocations, and variances.
• Perform detailed variance analysis related to production, labor, materials, and inventory.
• Support annual standard cost updates and inventory valuation processes.
• Partner with operations and plant management to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Analyze operating results and prepare management reports highlighting key trends and variances.

As an Accounting Supervisor, this individual will have very high exposure to senior leadership, reporting directly to the Plant Controller and partnering cross-functionally with other plant departments. This is an exciting role where you will have part ownership on the Accounting functions of the plant, helping own the FP&A for the location, cost accounting, and other essential business functions.
