Job summary

Core & Main in St. Louis is seeking a senior accountant to oversee proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP.

The role ensures financial and operating data accurately reflects the business and supports reliable operational control. You will supervise associates, plan daily workflows, ensure day-to-day operations follow established policies, and implement improved accounting systems and procedures.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in accounting or related field
• CPA preferred
• Experience supervising accounting staff
• Inventory/manufacturing experience preferred
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of associates performing accounting and bookkeeping tasks.
• Ensures day-to-day operations follow established accounting principles, policies, and objectives.
• Develops, recommends, and implements systems and procedural changes for general accounting.
• Develops and improves methods to expedite work and improve accuracy of accounting procedures.
• Coordinates accounting matters with other departments, locations and divisions; provides information and research as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
