Job summary

Abilene Zoological Gardens is seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee daily accounting operations under the supervision of the Division Manager – Accounting. You will supervise staff, prepare reconciliations, record transactions, monitor accounts payable, and support cashiering functions.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timely financial reporting, and collaboration across departments. You will train staff, audit transactions, and help ensure compliance with GAAP and city policies

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field.
• Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
• HIPPA compliance training within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Record financial transactions and enter journal entries into the ERP system.
• Process Accounts Payable payments and assist in AP functions.
• Reconcile bank statements to the general ledger and review end-of-day procedures.
• Oversee accounts receivable processes, aging reports, and invoicing.
• Oversee cashiering operations and ERP cashiering system training.
• Identify and implement process improvements for accounting operations.
