Job summary

Plains seeks a skilled accounting professional to oversee quarterly FERC financial reporting for Plains entities and joint ventures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and tax requirements.

The role includes supervising staff, coordinating with IT on tax systems, and reviewing government reports while maintaining GAAP compliance and effective cross‑functional communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting is required.
• 3-5 years of public accounting or financial accounting/reporting experience are required.
• GAAP knowledge is required.
• Certified Public Accountant license is preferred.
• Experience within or understanding of the midstream oil and gas industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversight and analysis of quarterly FERC financial statements for Plains entities and JVs.
• Resolution of accounting issues with other accounting departments.
• Review and interpretation of FERC accounting regulations to ensure compliance.
• Oversee the severance tax process and related state tax legislation impacts.
• Coordinate with IT to ensure severance tax system accommodates new legislation.
• Supervise team members and coordinate with department managers on shared resources.
• Participate in the Liquid Energy Pipeline Association Accounting Committee.
• Review periodic reports to government entities.
