Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior accounting professional to oversee core accounting functions in a global context, including revenue recognition and month-end close. You will ensure accuracy in the balance sheet and lead improvements in internal controls while supporting cross-functional teams across Client Success, Sales, and Development.

The role requires 5+ years of general accounting experience, deep knowledge of US GAAP/ASC 606, and strong Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years general accounting experience in an international or multinational organization.
  • Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, U.S. GAAP, and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Extensive experience managing the month-end close process, including journal entry review and approval.
  • Proven experience driving process improvements and implementing operational efficiencies.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Self-motivated with ownership of projects and deliverables.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounts receivable, sales invoicing, revenue recognition, royalties, and cost of sales.
  • Lead the transactional month-end close process, including reviewing and approving journal entries.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Take ownership of revenue accounting and sales invoicing, ensuring revenues and cost of sales are recorded accurately.
  • Review month-end financial results, identify discrepancies, and implement necessary corrections.
  • Prepare and review variance analyses for profit and loss accounts, providing insights into financial performance.
  • Ensure accounting processes comply with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Support quarterly reviews, year-end audits, and internal control audits by preparing documentation.
  • Partner with Client Success, Sales, and Development teams to support operations and provide financial guidance.
  • Evaluate existing processes, identify improvements, and lead efficiency initiatives.
  • Collaborate with shared services to improve reporting and streamline financial operations.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Job description

  • Lead the transactional month-end close process, including reviewing and approving journal entries
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Take ownership of revenue accounting and sales invoicing, ensuring revenues and cost of sales are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting standards

  • Ensure accounting processes and procedures are consistently followed and remain compliant with company policies and accounting standards
  • Support quarterly reviews, year-end financial audits, and annual internal control audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests
  • Partner closely with the Client Success, Sales, and Development teams to support business operations and provide financial guidance
  • Evaluate existing accounting processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
  • Collaborate with shared services teams and cross-functional stakeholders to improve reporting and streamline financial operations
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
