Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking an Accountant II to perform advanced accounting functions including monthly close, financial analysis, and reporting for the hospital and subsidiaries. This role supports GAAP compliance and may mentor junior staff.

The position is full-time, 40 hours weekly, with a hybrid work arrangement (6–12 onsite days per month) and standard hours Monday–Friday. A Bachelor’s in Accounting and CPA preferred; 3 years’ healthcare accounting experience expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's preferred.
• CPA certification preferred.
• 3 years of accounting experience required; healthcare accounting preferred.
• Experience with grants & gifts accounting or healthcare entities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post general ledger entries and assist monthly close.
• Perform account reconciliations and ad-hoc financial analysis.
• Interact with internal/external auditors during audits.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, hospital policies and laws.
• Provide training or support to junior staff as needed.
