Partner Engineering & Science, Inc. is seeking a full-time, in-office Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team at our Torrance headquarters. This position is designed for an individual seeking to build a long-term career in accounting, with opportunities to progress into Staff Accountant and Senior Accountant roles.

The Accounting Specialist will support general ledger accounting, month-end close activities, lease administration, and U.S. federal and state tax compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience.
• Experience supporting month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems preferred.
• Exposure to lease accounting (ASC 842), tax compliance, or public accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries per company policies and GAAP.
• Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Assist monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Analyze account activity and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain general ledger records and documentation.
• Support lease accounting and ASC 842 processes.
• Maintain lease accounting schedules and documentation.
• Track lease additions, modifications, renewals, and terminations.
• Record lease transactions and reconciliations per ASC 842.
• Coordinate with departments to gather lease data.
• Assist with lease-related disclosures and audit support.
• Assist with federal, state, and local tax filings.
