Job summary

Duke University, located on the Durham campus with a hybrid work option (3 days onsite) or fully onsite, seeks an Accounting Specialist to support the Nicholas School of the Environment (NSOE). You will process financial transactions, assist with reimbursements, and ensure accurate records for the Durham campus and Beaufort Marine Lab.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Financial Management Analysts, Bursar, and Procurement Services to ensure timely and compliant financial activity.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial practices.
• Ability to review, analyze, and reconcile financial transactions and discrepancies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial systems (SAP/S4, Concur).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process financial transactions for NSOE, including requisitions, vendor payments, travel reimbursements, and journal vouchers.
• Provide administrative support to the NSOE Business & Finance Office and maintain compliant financial records.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end activities.
