Job summary

A+E Global Media is hiring an Accounting Specialist, Accounts Receivable to support day-to-day AR operations for the Ad Sales business. You will ensure timely billing, cash application, and reconciliations while collaborating with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SAP, including S/4 Hana, Operative, WideOrbit, or similar ERP systems.
• Experience using AI tools to improve efficiency, reporting, documentation and workflow automation.

Responsibilities

• Support Domestic Ad Sales accounts receivable activities by monitoring billing, cash application, and outstanding receivables across both Linear and Digital advertising revenue streams.
• Monitor and analyze Accounts Receivable aging reports, investigate outstanding items, and assist with manual cash application, billing adjustments, and account corrections when automated processes require intervention.
• Assist AR manager with billing activities in WideOrbit, Operative, and SAP by validating billing information and coordinating billing adjustments with internal partners.
• Research customer payment activity and support accurate cash application to maintain integrity of customer balances.
• Partner with Sales, Sales Operations, Traffic, Revenue Management, Revenue Accounting, Finance, and external customers to resolve discrepancies and support order-to-cash.
• Prepare AR reports, aging summaries, cash reports, and reconciliations for management review monthly.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and analyses.
• Maintain customer account records, payment history, dispute documentation, and SOPs.
• Identify trends and process improvements to enhance billing accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with system implementations and documentation updates as operations modernize.
• Utilize SAP, SAP S/4HANA, Operative, WideOrbit, Excel, and AI tools to improve productivity and reporting accuracy.

Job Description

THE ROLE: Accounting Specialist, Accounts Receivable

The Accounting Specialist, Accounts Receivable supports the day-to-day accounts receivable operations for A+E Global Media’s Media Solutions (aka Ad Sales) business. This role with the Accounts Receivable team will help ensure the timely and accurate billing, cash application, account reconciliation, and resolution of outstanding receivables across the entire Ad Sales customer base.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoys solving problems while collaborating across multiple business areas. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in media advertising revenue, order-to-cash processes, financial reporting, and operational accounting, while building the skills necessary for career progression.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Accounting Specialist, Accounts Receivable

• Support Domestic Ad Sales accounts receivable activities by monitoring billing, cash application, and outstanding receivables across both Linear and Digital advertising revenue streams.

• Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules, documentation, and supporting analyses.
• Maintain accurate customer account records, payment history, dispute documentation, and supporting files in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain and update current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while streamlining documentation to support consistency, efficiency, and future reference.
• Identify trends, recurring issues, and process improvement opportunities that enhance billing accuracy, cash application efficiency, reporting, and internal controls.
• Assist with system implementations, process transformation initiatives, testing activities, and documentation updates as the department continues to improve and modernize its operations.
• Utilize SAP, SAP S/4 HANA, Operative, WideOrbit, Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on Excel), and AI-enabled tools such as ChatGPT and Shortcut AI, to improve productivity, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance reporting accuracy.
• Assist with special projects, ad hoc analyses, and other Accounts Receivable responsibilities as business needs evolve.

Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $33.75 - $38.81

Annual Incentive Target: 5%
