Job summary

Hunter Hamilton in Verona, PA seeks an experienced Senior Accounting Specialist with a strong background in construction accounting and Accounts Payable to support a family-owned firm with a long track record across diverse projects.

You will manage AP for multiple projects, code invoices to jobs and cost codes, handle AIA billing, retainage, POs and subcontractor invoices, and collaborate with project managers and owners to resolve coding questions.

Qualifications

• Prior accounts payable experience within the construction industry is required.
• Strong understanding of construction job costing and cost codes.
• Experience with AIA billing and retainage.
• Familiarity with purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Experience with Sage or a similar construction accounting/ERP system.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and dates.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Scan and import expense invoices and subcontractor applications into a cloud-based invoice approval system
• Review, code, and distribute invoices to project managers and owners for approval
• Export approved invoices and transactions into Sage accounting software
• Ensure invoices are accurately coded to the appropriate jobs and cost codes
• Support A/P processes involving purchase orders, subcontractors, AIA billing, and retainage
• Maintain accurate electronic and physical filing systems, including daily and year-end records
• Track and reconcile use tax
• Monitor receipts and reconcile company credit card activity
• Ensure accounting transactions are processed accurately and within appropriate accounting periods
• Work closely with project managers, owners, and accounting team members to resolve invoice and coding questions
• Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization
