Johnson & Starr in Austin, TX is seeking an on-site Accounting Specialist to join our fast-growing lending team. This is a high-volume, transaction-heavy role that serves as a vital anchor for our accounting and servicing departments.

You will master cash collection and transaction processing, including mail pickup, checks, ACH and wires, and record transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and our loan servicing software (TMO).

Qualifications

• Late entry-level to mid-career experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong foundation in accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Background check required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of clerical accounting tasks supporting both accounting and servicing departments.
• Main focus will be daily cash collections activities, including mail pickup, processing manual checks with remote deposits, running ACH payment procedures, and booking wires and credit card transactions for lending operations.
• Accurately record financial transactions using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and our loan servicing software (TMO).
• Maintain high accuracy in a fast-paced, transaction-heavy environment.
• Support additional financial functions as you grow in the role, including Accounts Payable processing.
• Collaborate and assist cross-functional teams across the company when extra help is needed.

Key Responsibilities
