Job summary

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT: Degree in accounting or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting (or combination of education/experience).
One year of specialized experience at GS-05 level or education substitution or Superior Academic Achievement as described.

Responsibilities

Assist lead accountant to determine proper accounting and financial requirements.
Assist with preparation of agency financial statements and coordination with National Finance Center.
Review and reconcile agency trial balances, subsidiary ledgers, and budget data.
Provide technical accounting guidance to managers on controls and reporting responsibilities.
Serve as agency point of contact with OIG during audits of the agency or consolidated USDA statements.
Analyze financial issues and recommend appropriate actions.
