Job summary

Orion180 is seeking an Accounting Operations Manager to oversee AR/AP, bank reconciliations, and internal controls in a fast-paced, on-site environment in Irving, TX. This role leads a four-person team and reports to the Controller, driving financial excellence and continuous process improvement.

You will coordinate audits, monitor cash flow, and implement enhancements with cross-functional partners while staying current on accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 10 years of progressive experience in related accounting roles, with 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review and approve vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and customer invoices. Monitor billing and collections activities to optimize cash flow.
• Oversee monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts. Review journal entries as needed to maintain accurate financial records.
• Maintain, develop and implement internal control procedures to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the coordination of audits and reviews by internal and external auditors.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and system upgrades.
• Provide training and support to accounting staff to ensure understanding and compliance with new procedures.
• Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure adherence to applicable requirements.
