Job description

The Accounting Operations Lead Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the processes and activities of accounting operations and the associated system applications used. Provides advanced expertise in accounts payable, vendor management, basic accounting, and banking services. Serves as a direct support and backup to management with limited supervision and decision-making authority. Seeks opportunities for continuous improvement within daily, monthly, and annual departmental tasks, working closely with other business partners inside and outside the company. Maintains the repository for all statements of process, reviews system enhancements and releases to create efficiencies, automates tasks, and collaborates with audit to execute fieldwork requests. Acts as a peer mentor, providing support and guidance to team members while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality.

• Oversees accounting operations processes, ensuring deadlines are met and staff are properly trained. Manages priorities and workload distribution.

• Develops, applies, and executes statements of process for accounting operations, ensuring controls and accurate recording.

• Collaborates on policy updates and oversees compliance.

• Assists with monthly general ledger reconciliations, variance inquiries, and communication with internal and external partners regarding discrepancies.

• Maintains and updates the business continuity plan and arranges annual testing exercises.

• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of systems and processes, serves as backup, and supports system enhancements and testing.

• Provides lead support for audits and 1099 reporting, communicating with auditors, vendors, and internal teams.

• Identifies and implements process improvements as needed.

• Performs ad-hoc analysis and participates in special projects.

• Serves as a peer mentor, supports cross-team duties, and acts as a subject matter expert in accounting operations.

• Requires 6+ years of experience in Accounting Operations and knowledge of accounting practices. High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Location: Hybrid (three or more days in the office per week).
