Responsibilities

• Maintains and builds strong customer relationships and understands their business goals.
• Advises customers on accounting, financial management, and tax best practices.
• Prepares tax returns, financial reports, records and payroll services.
• Stays up to date with federal and state tax regulations.
• Grows portfolio in assigned territory to meet billable hour and revenue goals.
• Collaborates with Farm Credit teammates to develop new business and expand existing relationships.
• Participates in educational programs for customers and prospects.
• Participates in department and regional team meetings and shares updates.
• Obtain and maintain Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).

Position Description

Accounting Officers (Tax Advisors) will provide services to accounting, record, and income tax return customers with a high level of quality, accuracy, and efficiency. In addition, the position will be involved with promoting related Farm Credit services, aiding in business development efforts, and participating in public relations activities. Accounting Officers (Tax Advisors) will operate independently under general supervision of manager, developing skills required to exercise more independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities

• Serves as a trusted partner for customers, advising on sound accounting, financial management, and tax best practices.
• Gathers complete and accurate financial data to prepare tax returns, financial reports, records and payroll services.

• Grows portfolio in assigned territory to achieve billable hour and revenue goals.
• Collaborates with Farm Credit teammates to develop new business, as well as expanding the relationships of existing customers.
• Actively participates in educational programs for customers and prospects.
• Participates in both departmental and regional team meetings, providing insight on any pertinent updates or information that helps the team better service customers.

Education & Certifications

Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certifications preferred.
