Job Description
This position is responsible for financial planning and aspects of budget management for the Centennial Student Union and Student Activity Fee Fund. The position performs long range financial forecasting of revenues and expenses to support the development of the annual budgets for the CSU and Student Activity Fee Fund. The position works with the Student Allocations Committee on a weekly basis, and advises them through the business process of allocating funds to a variety of student organizations and the annual departmental funding process. The position is also responsible for daily monitoring and record keeping, as well as processing some departmental transactions.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge or generally accepted accounting principles and practices sufficient to coordinate the various phases of departmental accounting functions.
Knowledge of financial, statistical, database and spreadsheet software sufficient to apply to business needs.
Knowledge of financial management and analysis techniques to apply them to strategic and business planning, problem identification and solution.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, other employees, University staff, and the general public.
Audit and interpret financial and budget documents.
Ability to prepare and interpret complex fiscal records and reports, recognize problems, and suggest effective solutions.
Ability to analyze fiscal reports for adherence and conformance to federal laws, State statutes, Revenue Fund bond covenant, Minn State, and University policies.
Knowledge of budgeting policies and practices sufficient to prepare or direct preparation of, review, and analyze annual budgets and internal fiscal documents.
Preferred Qualification
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
Revenue forecasting experience.
Experience in an active work environment.
