Job summary

Army National Guard Units seeks an Accounting Officer for the Colorado USPFO in the National Guard. This Title 5 excepted service role focuses on directing the state ARNG's total accounting function and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting.

The position requires 36 months of financial/performance accounting experience, expertise in accounting planning, and the ability to present remedial recommendations while leading and training subordinates in accordance with regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• Must have 36 months experience in financial accounting and/or performance accounting.
• Experience in accounting preparation and planning with a full range of competencies in the accounting business.
• Experience presenting researched recommendations for remedial actions such as methods for improving the use of funds.
• Experience that demonstrates the ability to lead, train subordinates, follow directions, read, retain, and comply with instructions, regulations, policies and procedures.

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ACCOUNTING OFFICER, Position Description Number T5135P01 and is part of the CO USPFO, National Guard. Theprimary purpose of this position is to serve as an Accounting Officer with responsibility for managingthe total accounting function for the state ARNG.

Must have 36 months experience in each of the following:

• Experience in financial accounting and/or performance accounting experiences that led to objective and systemic examinations and resulted in assessments of the finance program's performance, efficiency, organization, program, activity or function.
• Experience in accounting preparation and planning with a full range of competencies in the accounting business that successfully accomplished intended purposes; met or exceeded operational efficiency; provided accurate, reliable, timely, and useful financial audit data; or, demonstrated experiences in conducting financial reviews that involved evaluating programs in terms of economical use of property and personnel.
• Experience that involve presenting researched recommendations for remedial actions such as, methods for improving the use of funds and the identification of questionable costs.
• Experience that demonstrates your abilities to lead, train subordinates, follow directions, read, retain, and comply with instructions, regulations, policies and procedures.
