Job summary

AEON Staffing Group seeks an Accounting Manager in the Charlottesville area to oversee core accounting operations for a regional renewable energy company. This full-time role reports to senior finance leadership and requires managing AP/AR, GL reconciliations, and cash forecasting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance, 3+ years of relevant experience, and CPA/CMA certification is preferred. Strong Excel skills and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years accounting experience including AP, AR, GL reconciliations, cash reporting, and cash flow forecasting.
• Experience managing finance and accounting personnel.
• Knowledge of cost accounting, job costing, and percent-complete revenue methods.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Responsibilities

• Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
• Lead the month-end close process, reconciliations, and internal financial statements.
• Support field teams through project accounting, including job costing, WIP analysis, and percent-complete revenue.
• Oversee daily cash reporting, bank reconciliations, and monthly cash flow forecasts.
• Maintain corporate licenses and prepare, report, and file monthly sales and consumer use taxes.
• Supervise and train accounting staff and partner with internal teams on process improvements.

Job Overview

Our client, an established, regional renewable energy company, is looking to bring on an Project Accountant to focus on the company’s core accounting operations involving construction. This is a full-time role with our client.

Job Responsibilities

• Core Accounting Operations: Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
• Financial Reporting: Lead the month-end close process, execute general ledger reconciliations, and prepare internal financial statements.
• Project Accounting: Support field teams through detailed project accounting, including job costing, Work-In-Progress (WIP) analysis, and percent-complete revenue recognition.
• Cash & Expense Management: Oversee daily cash reporting, reconcile bank accounts, provide monthly cash flow forecasts, and manage the company’s bank card and fuel card programs.
• Compliance & Tax: Maintain corporate business licenses across all locations and accurately prepare, report, and file monthly sales and consumer use taxes.

Successful Candidates Must Have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience, including AP, AR, general ledger reconciliations, cash reporting, cash flow forecasting, and licensure
• Experience managing finance and accounting personnel
• Knowledge of cost accounting, job costing principles, and percent-complete revenue methodologiesStrong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
