One of our companies is currently looking for an Accounting Manager in Illinois and Indiana. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, including managing the accounting team and leading the financial closing process. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and internal controls. Additionally, you will support regulatory filings and assist with audits while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the monthly financial close process for all assigned entities within the organization
  • Take primary responsibility for internal controls related to financial processes, including preparing and reviewing reconciliations
  • Manage the preparation and review of statutory Quarterly and Annual Statements and regulatory filings
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of tasks
  • Review and approve invoices, perform account analysis, and summarize findings for senior management
  • Assist in the preparation of annual audit reports and provide financial insights for projects as needed

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in financial and accounting roles, including supervisory or management experience
  • Strong understanding of the insurance industry, with knowledge of regulatory reporting and filing processes
  • High proficiency with Excel and other commercial accounting software
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while ensuring accuracy in financial operations
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and develop a team
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners
