Job description

The Meta Reality Labs (RL) Accounting Team is seeking to fill the role of Manager. The successful candidate will be part of the RL Accounting Team partnering cross-functionally with Reality Labs Research, Manufacturing Supply Chain, Technical Accounting, and Finance to support new business initiatives by providing ideas and insights, creating processes that scale, and providing accounting guidance as needed. The individual must be a self-starter and work with limited direction while taking full ownership of their areas of responsibility. They will be expected to problem solve, recommend solutions, and exercise good business judgment while performing their functions.

Accounting Manager, Reality Labs Responsibilities

1. Manage and oversee global end-to-end accounting flows, controls, and related projects, with a particular focus on Opex and manufacturing equipment related to Reality Labs R&D and Manufacturing.
2. Partner with cross-functional teams of Reality Labs business, being the go-to person of the RL Accounting Team to provide required accounting guidance and support decision-making for Opex.
3. Develop and maintain processes around cost accounting methods.
4. Partner with Finance, Operations, and Business Development teams to understand business models and provide accounting support for all existing contracts and new deals on a forward-looking basis.
5. Review contracts to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
6. Document technical accounting positions on significant multiple element business arrangements.
7. Assist with month-end close procedures including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and other duties as necessary.
8. Fulfill internal and external audit requests.
9. Assist with the preparation of quarterly reporting packages to management.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
2. 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
3. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Internal Controls.
4. Experience implementing and improving business processes and systems.
5. Highly collaborative temperament, effective communication skills, and demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Lab Equipment, Manufacturing, hardware industry or Opex accounting experience.
2. Public Accounting Experience.
3. Experience with Oracle Financials and Hyperion.
4. Experience partnering with Operations, Business Partners, and Financial Planning teams.
