Job summary

Capital One is seeking an Accounting Manager, Project Lead in Richmond, VA to lead a cross-functional team of accounting experts and drive strategic, large-scale initiatives within the Controller's Central Integration Team. You will interact with senior management and multiple departments, delivering structured, high-impact project outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in accounting with 3+ years in project management; PMP/Lean/Agile certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a highly dynamic and cross-functional team of Accounting subject matter experts.
• Provide strategic direction to partners and peers in delivery of moderate to large complex initiatives.
• Understand customer expectations; current gaps & technical constraints; drive requirements and ultimately partner with the line of business and finance teams.

As a Manager of Accounting on the Accounting Project team you will lead a body of work, individually and through others, that support our Controllers Central Integration Team and transform our Finance organization. Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, accounting integration, finance, audit, or a combination
• At least 3 years of experience in project management, product management, or a combination

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Project Management Professional (PMP), or Lean or Agile Certifications (Product Owner, or Agile Project Mgmt, or SAFe Scaled Agilist)
• At least 1 year of experience managing direct or indirect reports

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 for Manager, Accounting Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Accounting Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
