Nucor is seeking an Accounting Manager responsible for coordinating and executing all accounting, reporting, and internal control activities. This role leads policy implementation, cost improvements, and audit processes while developing finance staff and ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Qualifications

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the coordination, oversight and execution of Nucor’s accounting, reporting, and internal control related activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, financial and compliance reporting, forecasting, costing files, assisting with annual budget, monthly balancing, tax and inventory management, and recording and timely reporting of accounting records/transactions, etc. This position will also, take a lead role in the implementation, communication, and interpretation of accounting and financial policies, control and system improvements, supervise external and internal audit processes and ensure that proper internal controls are maintained: and provide analytical support to other departments as it relates to accounting issues and drive continuous cost improvements across all aspects of the business. Responsible for staff training and the development and growth opportunities for finance department teammates. Serve as backup to Controller and other finance department functions as needed. • Minimum 5 years of Accounting/Finance experience
• Manufacturing and Cost Accounting experience
• Leadership/Supervisory experience
• Desire mobility and aptitude to become a Controller within Nucor
