Job summary

Canopy Children’s Solutions in Mississippi is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the organization’s financial operations and reporting. This role provides supervision for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and collaborates with management on budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least five years of relevant experience; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Must possess solid analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
• This position requires good judgment and a high level of initiative and autonomy.
• Excellent communications, good computer skills and strong knowledge of financial software as required.
• Must be willing to use personal vehicle for organizational travel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including reviewing balances and preparing adjusting entries.
• Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
• Coordinate audits and gather documentation to verify compliance with expenditures, purchases and capital equipment records.
• Monitor monthly expenses of programs and provide results to Director of Accounting.
• Ensure internal controls are designed, implemented and followed; audit workflows for proper authorization.
• Support management with financial reporting, special projects and forecasting.
