Job summary

SVA is seeking a Manager for our Small Business Accounting team located in Brookfield, WI or Madison, WI (onsite). You will oversee engagements from planning through delivery, manage client relationships, and mentor junior staff to deliver high-quality service.

In this role you will refine your skills across industries, with a focus on healthcare clients (medical, dental, veterinary). You will work in a growing firm that values mentorship, development, and excellence in client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in public accounting.
• CPA, EA, or equivalent certification required.

Responsibilities

• Execute engagements from start to finish by coordinating all phases, including: planning, field work, review process & communication to client.
• Follow the progress of the work during an engagement in relation to budgeted time expenses and scheduled dates of completion.
• Supervise the preparation of all work products to be provided to the client.
• Maintain continuous contact with clients throughout the business year and develop a thorough understanding of the client and all facets of their business.
• Act as main contact for new client onboarding.
• Evaluate internal controls prepared by the staff.
• Keep the In-Charge informed of important developments in the work and communicate recommendations.
• Prepare monthly billings.
• Ensure confidentiality with client information and adhere to policies.
• Support 55 hours/week during busy season and 40-45 hours/week during non-busy season.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

5+ years’ experience in public accounting

CPA, EA, or equivalent certification
