Job summary

Gilbane Building is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead financial administration and manage Work in Process (WIP) for a portfolio of projects over $500M. You will communicate profitability, identify risks, and assist with month-end close, coordinating with the controller.

This role sits primarily in the office (Columbus or Cleveland) with travel to project sites to meet with project teams and subcontractors. Gilbane emphasizes a diverse, authentic workplace and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to learn construction management software.

Responsibilities

• Manages workload and performance of 3–5 direct reports (Account Practitioners, Senior Accountants, Accountants).
• Assists the Business Controller with staff and peer group meetings.
• Fosters a positive, inclusive work environment and communicates project financial health.
