Job summary

MDHA seeks an Accounting Manager in Nashville, TN, to lead financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support the agency's mission through sound financial management.

Key duties include directing month-end close, coordinating audits, managing GAAP-compliant reporting, and guiding staff development within the Finance/Accounting department. A Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field plus 5 years of experience are required; CPA and Yardi experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field and five years of progressive accounting or financial reporting experience.
• Preferred qualifications include public housing or governmental accounting experience, LIHTC familiarity, and CPA certification.
• Master's degree and Yardi or related PM/ERP experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads, coaches, and evaluates accounting staff in line with MDHA policies and performance practices.
• Directs financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance.
• Oversees month-end close, variances, budgets, and financial analyses for management.
• Manages audit processes with external/internal stakeholders and maintains documentation.
