Our client, a private equity backed manufacturer in Edison, NJ, is seeking an Accounting Manager to take the reins on their day-to-day accounting operations and lead a smooth and timely monthly close. This is a high-impact role with one direct report, offering visibility to senior leadership and the opportunity to contribute to M&A activity as the company continues to scale.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the monthly close process from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including GL maintenance, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting
• Supervise and mentor one direct report, fostering development and accountability
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts, including accruals and prepaids
• Collaborate with leadership on financial reporting and business analysis
• Partner with the CFO on due diligence and integration efforts related to acquisitions
• Support internal and external audits with thorough documentation and follow-up
• Recommend and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and strengthen internal controls
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA a plus
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or private equity owned organization
• Proficiency in GAAP and hands-on experience with the full close process
• Strong ERP system skills and advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
• Experience supporting M&A activities, such as financial due diligence or post-acquisition integration, is a big plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
