Job summary

Lennar is seeking an Accounting Manager, General Accounting in Miami, FL to oversee day-to-day general accounting activities and support the monthly close processes in a SOX-compliant environment.

The role requires a CPA with 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including public company exposure, and a strong focus on process improvements, automation, and data quality. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• CPA is Required.
• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or public company experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day general accounting activities, including fixed assets, leases, accruals, allocations and other general ledger accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial reporting.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Assist in maintaining and enhancing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls related to the general ledger and record-to-report process.
• Partner with internal and external auditors by providing requested documentation and supporting quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhanced data quality.
• Support implementation of technology-driven solutions, including automation and AI-enabled tools, to streamline accounting workflows and improve reporting accuracy.
• Analyze financial results and provide insights to management regarding balance sheet and income statement trends, variances, and operational performance.
• Monitor compliance with SOX controls and corporate accounting policies.
• Mentor and provide guidance to senior accountants and staff accountants as appropriate.
• Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned.
