ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Manager’s main responsibility is to manage and drive operational accounting, including financial close and account reconciliations, through utilization of industry best practices, tools, and processes. The Accounting Manager will serve as an important leader within the Company’s finance organization, ensuring compliance with standard frameworks (i.e. US GAAP, SOX, COSO, and Company policies), enabling accurate and timely financial close, driving continuous improvement and efficiencies, and partnering with the business to provide financial insights and support. This role will lead and manage a team of 4 direct reports.

The Accounting Manager will have significant visibility to executive leadership throughout the Company, including CAO and CFO, and will maintain close working relationships with several members within the finance organization. As such, the individual in this role needs to be comfortable with a high degree of variability in their role and job function. This role should exemplify and advocate the company culture, values, and principles.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Execute the monthly close process for the Company, including review of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Own the operational accounting for the Company, such as fixed assets, leases, inventory, warehouse operating expenses, and payroll
  • Drive continuous improvement and reduced cycle time in the monthly close process through the increased utilization of technology and tools, implementation of standard operating procedures, and other efficiency measures
  • Develop and support processes and controls to ensure compliance with internal control frameworks, US GAAP, and Company policies
  • Build relationships with Company’s leaders to support understanding of and gain insights from departmental and warehouse financial results
  • Coordinate with and support external auditors for interim and annual audit
  • Provide real-time coaching and development opportunities to team members

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting
  • CPA required
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Big 4 accounting and/or large US public company experience preferred
  • Strong understanding and practical working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail
  • Curious mindset that proactively seeks understanding and feedback
  • Results oriented with a customer-service mindset and approach
  • Engaging leadership approach that builds rapport and cohesiveness within the team
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and achieve objectives, changing direction along the way to achieve business objectives
  • Motivated by and thrives in a fast-paced environment with frequent ad hoc requests and changing priorities
  • Private Equity experience is a plus
  • Experience with OneStream or similar consolidation software is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is a must
