West Michigan Tag and Label is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager - AP/AR to oversee the financial operations of our manufacturing organization. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and finance, including month-end close, payroll processing, payables and receivables, job cost review, financial reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in financial operations within the manufacturing sector, a deep understanding of ERP systems, and a hands-on approach to ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Conduct detailed job cost reviews and ensure accuracy of job-related financial tracking
• Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant wage and hour laws
• Prepare and file sales tax reports in accordance with state and local regulations
• Generate and distribute annual 1099 forms to vendors
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Deliver quarterly financial analysis reports to leadership for strategic planning
• Maintain internal financial controls and compliance procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage)
• Hands-on experience with payroll processing and sales tax reporting
• Familiarity with year-end processes including 1099 preparation
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
