Job summary

101 Mobility is seeking an Accounting Manager to own the accounting function for a franchisor with ~100 franchises and company-owned locations. You will migrate from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, redesign the close process, and establish scalable reporting infrastructure.

The role reports to the CFO and will be hands-on with the general ledger while shaping the department's future staffing and structure.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred or active candidacy with plan to complete.
• Minimum 7 years in progressive accounting roles, 2+ years leading closes.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, intercompany, and consolidations.
• Hands-on migration/implementation of accounting systems and chart of accounts.
• Strong ASC 606 revenue knowledge, especially franchising or multi-element deals.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI or dashboards.
• Experience with QuickBooks (Desktop and Online) is required; public accounting a plus.

Position Summary

101 Mobility is looking for an Accounting Manager to own the accounting function for a franchisor operating roughly 100 franchise units alongside company-owned retail locations. This is a build role, not a maintenance role. Over the next twelve months you will lead the migration from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, redesign a close process that is currently manual and spreadsheet-dependent, and stand up the reporting infrastructure the business needs to scale.

You will report directly to the CFO with no layer in between. The role has no direct reports today and is supported by outsourced transactional resources, which means you will be hands-on in the general ledger while you rebuild the process around it. You will also have a direct say in how the department is ultimately staffed and structured.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for multiple legal entities, driving both the timeline and the quality of the output, and delivering financial statements to leadership within committed deadlines
• Lead the QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online migration, including chart of accounts design, opening balance validation, and the integration architecture connecting the operational system, expense management, and payroll to the general ledger
• Redesign manual accounting processes into automated, auditable workflows, replacing spreadsheet-based tracking with system-generated schedules and reconciliations
• Own the franchise revenue cycle, including royalty and minimum royalty billing, deferred and unearned revenue recognition, and receivables across the franchise network
• Manage the annual audit relationship and the company's response to it, owning the prepared-by-client process, technical accounting positions, and resolution of audit findings
• Own income, sales and use, and franchise tax compliance in coordination with external tax advisors, including multi-state and cross-border filings
• Maintain accounting for intercompany activity and shared-services arrangements with affiliated entities
• Design, document, and enforce internal controls and accounting policies, with a focus on segregation of duties around cash disbursement and revenue billing
• Own the balance sheet, including reconciliation standards, review discipline, and the integrity of every account
• Manage cash reporting and support the CFO’s rolling cash forecast with accurate, timely actuals
• Direct outsourced transactional accounting resources across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting, holding external partners to internal standards for accuracy and turnaround
• Partner with the CFO to define the future structure of the accounting department, including which roles to insource, when to hire them, and how the work is divided
• Partner with the CFO on the buildout of the FP&A function, ensuring the accounting foundation supports forecasting, unit economics, and franchise performance reporting

Education and Experience Required

• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college/university is required
• CPA required, or active candidacy with a defined completion path
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years owning a close process end to end
• Demonstrated ownership of a full external audit cycle as the primary company-side contact, including preparation of audit schedules and resolution of auditor requests
• Multi-entity accounting experience, including intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidated reporting
• Hands-on experience implementing or migrating an accounting system, with direct involvement in chart of accounts design, data conversion, and system integrations
• Working knowledge of revenue recognition under ASC 606, with franchise, subscription, or multi-element arrangement experience strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including comfort working with large data sets, pivot tables, and lookup and index/match formulas
• Experience with QuickBooks required; QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop both preferred
• Experience with Power BI or other dashboarding applications
• Public accounting experience is a plus
• Franchising, multi-unit retail, or private equity-backed company experience is a plus
• Familiarity with expense management and payroll platforms such as Concur and ADP is a plus
• Multi-state tax compliance experience is a plus; Canadian entity experience is a plus
• Proven ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple concurrent priorities
• Superior interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong business writing and presentation skills
