Job summary

Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs seeks an experienced accounting leader to ensure funds, records, and transactions comply with applicable standards and procedures. The role participates in the annual independent auditor reports and CAFR, while guiding staff in implementing accounting functions and closing the books after audits.

The ideal candidate will monitor financial metrics, reconcile GL accounts, and oversee payroll, timesheets, requisitions, and related IT systems.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressive accounting experience.
• Two years of experience supervising accounting staff.
• Must pass criminal background screening.
• Must pass pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.

Job description

Assures the Tribes' funds, records, and transactions are maintained in accordance with relevant standards, regulations, laws, policies and procedures. Participates in the production of the annual report of independent auditors on financial statements and the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Manages and directs professional and supports staff in the development and implementation of accounting functions to achieve stated goals and objectives. Monitors financial metrics regularly; ensures all general ledger accounts are reconciled to the audited financial statement and closed after each annual audit; and inspects accounting, payroll, timesheets, requisitions, and other financial information technology systems as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business management, or related field. Five years of progressive accounting experience, two years of experience supervising accounting staff. Must submit and pass a criminal background screening with Federal, Tribal and State Law Enforcement. Will also be required to submit and pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.
