Job summary

Linse Capital is seeking a hands-on accounting and finance professional to own the day-to-day operations for the firm's funds, GP entities, and management companies. You will prepare period-end statements, draft footnotes, and manage audits, tax cycles, and regulatory processes with direct interaction with investors and vendors.

You will drive process improvements, rebuild routines, and implement better systems while collaborating with a small, remote team across the US.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience — at a private equity or venture firm, a fund administrator, or in public accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA is a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a full close or audit completion, with the judgment and skepticism to catch issues before they reach an investor, client or auditor.
  • High proficiency in Excel and fluency with accounting and back‑office systems, plus a bias toward improving process.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment with confidential information, clear written communication with investors and advisers, and comfort owning outcomes on a small, remote team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger across all entities — entries, coding, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Own accounts payable and bill pay end to end, process expense reports against policy, manage day-to-day cash and banking activity, and provide operational support to the firm’s compliance calendar.
  • Prepare period-end financial statements for the funds, GP entities, and management companies, including allocations and management fee and expense schedules, and drive the close calendar to completion.
  • Prepare the annual audited financial statements, draft the accompanying footnotes and disclosures, and drive the audit process to completion.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual investor reporting, including capital-account statements and the schedules behind them.

Job description

Linse Capital is a venture and growth-equity firm backing frontier-technology companies in technically complex, defensible sectors — space, autonomy, energy, and semiconductors among them. Investing since 2015 and managing roughly $1.8 billion, the firm runs a deliberately lean team spread across the US with a headquarter office in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Role Description

This is a hands‑on, roll‑your‑sleeves‑up seat. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the firm's funds, GP entities, and management companies, produce the period‑end and investor reporting that comes out of it, and carry the audit, tax, and regulatory cycles that follow. There is no administrator and no layer between you and the work: you will do the entries, prepare the statements, draft the footnotes, and talk to the investors and vendors yourself with the support and guidance of the CFO.

It is also a seat with real latitude to change how things run. Much of what you inherit can be done better — cleaner files, tighter close, less manual work, better systems. We want someone who will rebuild parts of it, not just run it, and who has the judgment to decide what is worth rebuilding first. If you want a defined lane inside a large finance organization, this is not the job. If you want to own a function and leave it materially better than you found it, it is.

What You'll Do

Day to day

  • Maintain the general ledger across all entities — entries, coding, accruals, and reconciliations — keeping the books current rather than catching up at period end.
  • Own accounts payable and bill pay end to end, process expense reports against policy, manage day‑to‑day cash and banking activity, and provide operational support to the firm’s compliance calendar.

Close, reporting, and audit

  • Prepare period‑end financial statements for the funds, GP entities, and management companies, including allocations and management fee and expense schedules, and drive the close calendar to completion.
  • Prepare the annual audited financial statements, draft the accompanying footnotes and disclosures, and drive the audit process to completion.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual investor reporting, including capital‑account statements and the schedules behind them.

Tax, compliance, and regulatory

  • Facilitate tax reporting with our outside advisers for the US, Puerto Rico, and Germany: assemble the information they need, review what they prepare, manage the cross‑border calendar, and coordinate K-1 delivery.
  • Provide ad hoc compliance support to the CFO/CCO, and support SEC filing and reporting requirements alongside the legal and compliance teams.

Investor and fund operations

  • Prepare capital calls — allocations, notices, and schedules — and track funding through to receipt.
  • Support distributions, including calculations, waterfall allocations, notices, and payment execution.
  • Handle investor and vendor correspondence directly: answer routine inquiries, triage the finance inbox, elevate what needs the CFO or IR, and keep service‑provider workstreams moving.

Making it better

  • Find what is manual, fragile, or slower than it should be and fix it. This is an explicit part of the job, not a stretch goal.
  • Evaluate and implement platforms and tools that add accuracy, speed, and capacity — and document the processes and controls so the improvements outlast you.
Nice to Have
  • Exposure to registered investment adviser compliance operations and SEC reporting (for example Form ADV or Form PF support).
  • Experience preparing financial statements across related entities — funds, GP or carry vehicles, and management companies — including hands‑on preparation of audited financials and footnotes.
  • A track record selecting or implementing finance and operations systems.
  • Experience building the accounting function at a small or growing firm.
Location

Remote (US). The firm is based in San Juan, Puerto Rico with remote employees across the US. Occasional travel may be required.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Employment is available in states where the firm is registered as an employer. We will confirm this with you early in the process.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary range: $150,000 – $175,000 per year, depending on relevant experience, skills, and location.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance: Employer‑paid for the employee and eligible dependents, subject to plan terms and eligibility requirements.
  • Performance bonus and carried interest depending on relevant experience, skills, and location
