Job summary

Destination Pet is seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to manage complex GAAP accounting, including ASC 842 lease accounting for 180+ leases and related financial statements.

You will own monthly reconciliations, fixed assets and intangibles, capitalization policies, and support tax reporting, audits and annual statements. This role requires strong communication and analytical skills in a detail-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• 7–10 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in ASC 842 and ASC 606 essential.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly reconciliations for cash, inventory, fixed assets, intangibles and lease accounts.
• Ensure ASC 842 lease accounting across 180+ leases and maintain lease records in Occupier.
• Set up and review wires and ACHs, and establish cash management and payment controls.
• Oversee fixed assets, intangible assets and work in progress, including capitalization policy.
• Complete monthly and quarterly reporting, repair and maintenance accruals, and tax reporting support.
• Write technical accounting memos on leases (842), revenue (606) and disposals.
• Maintain general ledger accounts, support audit preparation and assist with financial statements.
