Job summary

IMG Academy is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead accounting functions and ensure accurate financial reporting under U.S. GAAP. The role emphasizes revenue recognition, ASC 606, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyze data and support scalable accounting processes.

You will prepare journal entries, manage monthly closes, support audits, and mentor the accounting team while staying current on standards and seeking process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Four years of experience in public or private accounting.
• Strong understanding of ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with large data sets.
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager leads and oversees accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role has a strong focus on revenue recognition and technical accounting, partnering with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, support new products, and develop scalable and efficient accounting processes.

Position Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data and reports from multiple systems to validate results, identify discrepancies, and ensure accurate accounting
• Lead the revenue recognition process, including analysis of contracts, performance obligations, and complex, multi-element arrangements in accordance with ASC 606
• Prepare and review journal entries and financial statements as part of the monthly close process
• Evaluate accounting implications of new products and services and develop appropriate revenue recognition processes
• Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable accounting standards
• Manage external audits and support the preparation of audited financial statements
• Identify opportunities to improve, simplify, and automate accounting processes and reporting
• Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement scalable accounting solutions, systems, and processes
• Stay current on accounting standards and advise management on relevant changes and actions
• Support the development of accounting team members and promote effective collaboration across the organization
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Four years of experience in public or private accounting
• Strong understanding and experience with ASC 606, including multi-element contracts and performance obligations
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with financial/accounting systems and large data sets
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify errors, investigate discrepancies, and assess the reasonableness of financial results
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and follow through
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Intellectual curiosity and a desire to improve and simplify processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to leverage technology, automation, and AI tools to improve accounting processes and analysis

Preferred Skills

• CPA or working toward CPA certification preferred
• Experience in revenue recognition or technical accounting preferred
• Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, Tableau, or similar systems preferred
