BioPhase Solutions specializes in recruiting top talented professionals for Southern California's Life Sciences community. We are currently looking for an Accounting Manager for a leading San Diego area biotech company.

Responsibilities:

Lead the month-end accounting close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all related tasks.
Manage day-to-day operational accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
Supervise and provide coaching to a staff accountant, promoting their growth and development.
Collaborate in refining the budgeting and forecasting processes, leveraging data to support critical operational decisions.
Prepare annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, such as investors, auditors, and customers.
Identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes to improve overall efficiency and support the team's objectives.
Serve as the first point of contact for key financial, operational, and laboratory-related questions.
Ensure segregation of duties and maintain strict internal controls as the company grows.
Oversee and review key accounting schedules, reconciliations, and allocations to close the financial reporting cycle.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience, including both public accounting and industry experience. Public accounting experience at a large firm is preferred.
Experience with commonly used ERPs is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Active CPA license is preferred.
