Position

We’re seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead all day-to-day and strategic finance operations for our firm. This role is fully responsible for the firm’s bookkeeping, including daily transaction entry, reconciliations, and maintenance of all financial records. Core responsibilities include managing the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, cash flow, financial reporting, and internal controls. You’ll work closely with firm leadership, external accountants, and vendors to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial processes.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of processes, and brings a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial data
  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping duties, including bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and transaction categorization
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll workflows, including vendor communications and approval processes
  • Monitor cash flow and manage trust/IOLTA accounts in compliance with New Jersey and Pennsylvania regulatory requirements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports, including budget tracking and variance analysis
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax professionals on audits and filings
  • Develop and refine internal accounting policies and controls to ensure compliance and scalability
  • Support internal teams with financial data requests, audits, and strategic initiatives
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all financial reporting and regulatory filings
  • Handle all financial information with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CPA-track preferred)
  • 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Experience at a plaintiff-side law firm strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of IOLTA account compliance requirements in New Jersey and Pennsylvania
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online required; familiarity with legal billing or case management systems is a plus
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities independently
