The Equus Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee the firm's accounting function across multiple real estate entities. This hands-on leader will manage the general ledger, prepare consolidated statements, and support lenders with timely financial reporting.

Ideal candidates bring 8–10 years in real estate accounting, strong CAM experience, and proficiency with Yardi and Excel. This role emphasizes independence, accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate.
• Hands-on retail and CAM reconciliation experience required.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience working with multiple entities and consolidated financial statements.
• Yardi experience strongly preferred.
• Strong Excel and accounting systems skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
• Practical, hands-on approach with ownership of day-to-day accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger and chart of accounts across multiple single-purpose entities
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and internal financial reporting
• Manage journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations
• Oversee treasury activities, including wires, cash balances, and account activity
• Prepare financial reporting and supporting materials for lenders
• Manage retail CAM reconciliations and related tenant accounting
• Maintain accurate and timely accounting records across the firm's real estate portfolio
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external parties as needed on accounting and financial matters

We are partnering with our client, a well-established real estate firm, to identify an Accounting Manager to oversee the firm’s accounting function. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who is comfortable working across a portfolio of real estate entities and wants to serve as a key accounting resource for the business.

The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger experience, a solid understanding of real estate accounting, and hands-on experience with retail/CAM reconciliations. Yardi experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
