Manages all activities of the division. Monitors, implements and makes recommendations for the improvement of internal controls, processes, policies and procedures. Ensures the proper implementation of financial accounting and reporting standards and coordinates the training, guidance and development of staff.
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily financial operations of the department, ensuring accurate accounting practices and compliance with City policies and governmental standards. This role manages general ledger activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, all event accounting and close processes. The position also develops and maintains department-specific accounting procedures, oversees budget monitoring, and ensures proper documentation and internal controls.
The Accounting Manager supervises accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to established guidelines. In addition to daily operations, the role leads department-level financial projects such as process improvements, system enhancements, and new reporting requirements. This includes planning, tracking progress, identifying risks, and communicating updates to leadership.

Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Three years experience in accounting supervision and computer software application.
