Ascent Hospitality seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily financial operations for a hotel property, ensuring accurate reporting and policy adherence. You will partner with corporate accounting and hotel leadership to maintain financial integrity and support goals.

The role requires strong accounting knowledge, leadership, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Travel and supervisory responsibilities are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheets.
• Assist in financial reports and audits.
• Submit financial data to corporate leadership in a timely manner.
• Supervise and train accounting staff, fostering development.
• Maintain compliance with federal/state/local tax regulations.
• Implement internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Collaborate with department managers on financial decision making.
• Assist with special projects and initiatives.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and adherence to company policies. This position works closely with the corporate accounting team and property leadership to maintain financial integrity and support the hotel’s financial goals.

Essential Functions:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure financial stability.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data to corporate leadership.
• Supervise and train accounting staff, providing guidance and development opportunities.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Occasionally required to lift or move up to 15 pounds.
• Ability to navigate the hotel property as needed.

Qualification Standards:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.
