Job description

Venteon Finance is currently seeking an Accounting Manager for a credit union located in Macomb County. The Accounting Manager is an integral part of the team and will lead the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization.

Requirements of the Accounting Manager

• 3 plus years of relevant work experience
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Strong general ledger experience; working through financial statements preparation
• Ability to work independently and on a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft: Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Must be detail oriented

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager

• Supervise the daily activities of the Accounting Department and its team members.
• Establish and maintain an accounting system in accordance with laws, regulations and reporting requirements.
• Train and advise the department team on new policies and procedures including cross training of duties within the department.
• Complete month, quarter and year end balancing and reconciliations and board reports.
• Post and reconcile depreciation and prepaid accounts. Prepare monthly accrual entries.
• Balance subsidiary accounts to the general ledger, and research outstanding items.
• Monitor all credit union payables and receivables for proper payment and posting.
