Job summary

Ascendo Resources seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations in a hands-on, on-site role in Hialeah, FL. The ideal candidate will own the accounting function, manage GL, month-end close, and inventory/cost accounting, while ensuring GAAP compliance and supporting audits.

We prefer 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with manufacturing/distribution exposure and strong ERP (SAP/Rootstock) and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
• 5+ years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience.
• Manufacturing, industrial, or distribution accounting experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong experience with inventory and cost accounting.
• Knowledge of standard costing, COGS, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• ERP experience such as SAP, Rootstock, or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Strong GAAP understanding.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and adjustments
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
• Prepare financial reports and assist with financial statement preparation
• Oversee inventory accounting and cost accounting
• Review COGS, standard costing, manufacturing costs, and production variances
• Investigate discrepancies and independently resolve accounting issues
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies
• Support internal and external audits
• Partner with operations on inventory movements and production costs
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• 5+ years of progressive, hands‑on accounting experience
• Previous Accounting Manager experience strongly preferred; strong Senior Accountants may be considered
• Manufacturing, industrial, or distribution accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong experience with inventory and cost accounting
• Knowledge of standard costing, COGS, and manufacturing variance analysis
• Strong GL, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close experience
• ERP experience such as SAP, Rootstock, or similar
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Must be comfortable working 100% onsite in Hialeah, FL
