Job summary

MUST Ministries in Marietta, GA is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the organization’s accounting and financial reporting functions. You will oversee month-end close, budgeting, audits, and internal controls, partnering with leadership to ensure fiscal integrity and compliance with nonprofit standards.

The role manages a small accounting team, supports system improvements, and serves as a financial partner across departments to advance MUST Ministries’ mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or economics.
• 2–3 years end-to-end month close; 5–7 years accounting with nonprofit experience a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of MIP and Concur.
• Ability to lead a small accounting team and improve controls.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage the month, quarter, and year end close process, ensuring GAAP and nonprofit standards.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and coordinate the annual budget and audit.
• Create, monitor, and enforce policies and procedures for fiscal accountability and internal controls.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and liaise for the external audit and filing of Form 990.

General Description: Provides leadership and management of the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring fiscal integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective stewardship of organizational resources. Oversees all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process; prepares and analyzes financial statements; coordinates the annual budget and audit; and ensures compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
