  • Experience in Sigma Fine or other yield accounting software preferred.

  • Direct the development of and approve changes to the Sigma Fine model.
  • Drive cross-functional projects and initiatives with senior leadership involvement.

Job description

The Opportunity
  • Accounting Manager at a growth-oriented downstream energy company
  • Lead a high-performing Yield Accounting team and play a critical role in optimizing refinery and renewables operations. You'll oversee daily production and consumption accounting, ensure accurate reconciliation of crude and refined product movements in Sigma Fine, lead month-end close activities, and drive continuous improvements through Sigma Fine model enhancements.
  • Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for supervising and developing the Yield Accounting Analysts, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of refinery inventory and yield reporting and driving continuous process improvement across the yield accounting function.
Key Activities Include
  • Manages and provides leadership, coaching, and development for the Yield Accounting team, including workload allocation, performance management, and training
  • Oversee the business process for measuring, validating, reconciling, and publishing all flows and inventories into, within, and out of the refinery
  • Reviews and approves refinery month-end and daily inventory closing positions prepared by the Yield Accounting team
  • Provides oversight and quality control of the actual to forecast comparisons and Sigma Fine reconciliations performed by Yield Accounting team
  • Directs the development of and approves changes to the Sigma Fine model
  • Leads a multi-disciplinary approach to projects and initiatives that involve a high degree of cross-functional interaction
  • Ensures timely investigation, resolution, and reporting of yield issues and product losses, escalating significant items to senior management
  • Owns monthly inventory compliance for the department, including review and sign-off of compliance documentation
  • Communicates and presents yield, inventory, and reconciliation results to senior leadership on a regular basis
  • Serves as the primary point of escalation for complex or unresolved yield accounting issues
  • Act as backup for Yield Accounting staff duties in their absence and may perform analyst-level duties as needed
  • Leads or supports process improvement initiatives across yield accounting and related systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Must maintain active TWIC credentials
  • Must maintain an active driver's license with acceptable driving record
Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. Additional Qualifications Include
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, engineering or related field required
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Yield Accounting or Refinery Accounting required
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory, management, or team lead experience required
  • Refining, manufacturing, or energy industry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in Sigma Fine or other yield accounting software preferred
  • ERP experience required (SAP preferred)
  • Advanced technical expertise, critical thinking skills, and the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues required
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) required
  • Proven ability and willingness to provide day-to-day and after-hours support when needed, required
  • Proven ability to balance strategic accountability with hands-on execution strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills strongly preferred
  • Responsive, organized, and detailed oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines strongly preferred
  • Ability to work in office Monday through Thursday required, work from home option on Friday

Hiring Range

The hiring range for this position is $99,000 to $130,000, plus discretionary bonus. The candidate selected will be placed according to his/her skills and qualifications.
